Ashley D. Peoples is an experienced trial attorney whose practice is centered around business litigation, including construction contract disputes, employment litigation, and construction defect claims.  As a part of her practice, Ms. Peoples also regularly represents clients in regulatory matters involving OSHA and Department of Labor compliance issues. She also provides legal counsel to businesses in the areas of contract review, drafting, and negotiation as well as advising on employment matters. 

Ms. Peoples is a regular presenter on topics involving the construction industry and employment-related issues, including wage and hour compliance, non-compete agreements, sexual harassment, hazards and pit-falls to avoid when executing construction contracts, contract negotiation, liens and bond claims under Arkansas law, subcontractors and suppliers, and residential and commercial construction contracts.

Representative Cases 
Obtained jury verdict in favor of specialty contractor in claim against the owner for breach of contract. (January 2019)  

Successful representation of contractor in large arbitration regarding multi-million dollar commercial project.  Contractor alleged breach of contract and damages of over $230,000, and owner claimed a back-charge of over $700,000 against the contractor.  (October 2018) 

Obtained unanimous jury verdict in favor of owner in lawsuit brought by contractor for breach of contract.  The jury also unanimously awarded damages to the owner on his counterclaim for breach of contract/defective work against the contractor.  (January 2017) 

Successfully defended and secured a unanimous jury verdict in favor of employer in lawsuit brought by former employees for breach of contract and promissory estoppel.  (January 2016) 

Successful representation of a hotel owner in a lawsuit brought by a contractor seeking damages for alleged breach of contract.  The unanimous jury verdict also awarded the hotel owner damages against the contractor on its counterclaim for breach of contract against the contractor.  (February 2015) 

Successful appeal before the Arkansas Court of Appeals, Divisions II and III, from a judgment of dismissal with prejudice on the pleadings in favor of business owner in malpractice suit against accountant.  United Systems of Arkansas, Inc. v. Beason & Nalley, Inc., Chad Braley, and David Miller, 2014 Ark. App. 534.
